History and background. The story about Max Mendelson and Sissela Carboni's adventure started as small stories for my kids some 5 years ago. I have allways been interested in science fiction, science, astronomy and space technology. I wanted to create a realistic science fiction or fantasy story. Something that, with a bit of fantasy, could happen for two normal kids in the middle of a daily life. The Max Mendelson books are ment for children of the age around 8-12, but surely they can be read by both younger and older as well. These books contains very little violence. The small amount there is, are more or less needed to keep the story believable. But no one will be severely injured. It is very important to create a story without unnecessarry violence. We already have too much of that in litterature, television, movies and in computer games.
